Our Story
2007
Pilar and Roberto Domínguez are siblings and together they founded Costumalia. Their parents used to rent out costumes and, after years of experience in the industry, they decided to focus on selling these products.
2009
The business started with a single shop and a small warehouse and, just two years later, Costumalia made the leap into the digital world: launching its first website and starting to sell online across Spain.
2012
Bonjour France! The company entered the French market with its Monsieur Déguisement website. The location, the language and the country’s strong costume tradition played a key role in choosing France as the next market.
2014
Costumalia continued to grow, making a move to new facilities necessary. The new premises in Ponteareas (Spain) house the company’s headquarters, a 3,000 m² warehouse and a 600 m² physical store.
2018
The company’s costumes and accessories were reaching more and more destinations across Europe. In 2017, the website for the German market was launched, followed a year later by the Italian website. Costumalia expanded its warehouse once again and, with 7,000 m², it became the largest warehouse in Spain within the costume industry.
2019
The company created the Satisfyer costume, a product that broke sales records and opened up a new business line: original in-house designed costumes. This was followed by other successful creations such as the Squid Game costume, the Antigen Test costume and Wednesday Addams.
2021
Costumalia continued investing in new sales channels. Its products became available on all Amazon marketplaces across Europe, as well as on the French marketplace Cdiscount. In addition, at the end of that year, the company launched its new website for Portugal.
2023
The company launched a new website to provide customers with the best possible shopping experience. In addition, the company unified its international brand identity to strengthen its presence across Europe and adopted the name Costumalia in all markets outside Spain.
2025
We continued our expansion across Europe with the launch of our website in Belgium. In addition, we expanded our own catalogue with new exclusive designs and added Miravia and Carrefour to our online sales channels, further strengthening our omnichannel strategy.
